Well it’s official we’ve made it half-way through the month on a keto diet only. I know that doesn’t seem like much, but really it is and for several reasons. For one thing I have a terrible time with will power, especially in the evenings. I SWEAR those pizza and burger commercials know when I’m watching TV and play more often just to torture me. Another thing is the cost of food these days is ridiculous. When you live on a budget you get used to having what I term as staples (oatmeal, pancakes, box macaroni and cheese, ect) around for when the end of the month comes around. That’s when groceries are low and money is nil. These things don’t cost much, are filling, and can sit in the pantry a month or more at a time without spoiling.
BUT these things aren’t keto friendly and to buy healthy foods you spend two maybe three times more for healthy food. Why is it that large families have to eat cheap overly processed foods. And then the world wonders why Americans are so fat. It’s not right, seriously if shipping fresh produce is so expensive that an apple should cost $2 then stores should source these foods locally. I would go so far a to say, farming should be a required class for our high school age children and schools should have a community garden.
Food Diary – Day Fifteen
Breakfast: Bullet Proof Coffee with a scoop of chocolate protein power.
Lunch: Sausage with mustard.
Dinner: Chicken, pepperonis, and pepperjack cheese.
MACROS: 5.8% carbs, 25% Protien, and 69.2% Fat
