So I know my last post was short and sweet and the truth is I was more upset than I wanted to admit even to myself thinking that I was already somehow failing. I know I shouldn’t get on the scales so soon but two days in to this diet train and hubs was teasing me because he’s lost six pounds already. I told him it was water weight but of course I went and peeked at the scale myself and saw that I had lost five pounds myself. I was on a high but only for maybe two days. Because the next time he goated me into looking the scales disappointed me with a 3.1 pound gain. We’ve only been doing keto for six days so I’m figuring these early numbers don’t mean a thing anyway so I told myself it’s not a big deal. I haven’t even purchased those little test strips yet so I don’t know if we’re even IN ketosis yet.
Looking back I know I haven’t been drinking enough water these last two days but otherwise the only other thing I can think of that even might have affected us was a couple of recipes we experimented with. We tried homemade chocolate (coconut oil, cocoa powder, and liquid stevia) which neither of us liked by itself. And peanut butter cookies (1 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup powdered stevia, and 1 egg) but we added 1oz of the chocolate we had made to it as well. I’m a chocoholic so not being able to have something dark and scrumptiously delicious is driving me insane.
If anyone knows of any GOOD chocolate craving crushing type snacks or deserts that are made with 3 – 4 ingredients I’d love to know about em!
Food Diary – Day Six
Breakfast: Bullet Proof Coffee, buttery scrambled eggs, and bacon.
Lunch: Romaine salad, boiled egg x2, cheddar cheese, and light balsamic vinaigrette.
Dinner: Parmesan crusted chicken breast, cauliflower veggie tots, and homemade ketchup.
MACROS: 5.8% carbs, 23.3% Protien, and 70.8% Fat
