I need to lose weight, there’s no ifs ands or buts about it. According to my scale my BMI is 69 so I’m not just obese, I’m morbidly obese. I don’t exercise often and since my knees are so very bad I barely even walk these days. For at least a year now I’ve gotten totally out of breath just walking from the bathroom back to my bedroom. It’s scary how that has gotten so much worse just in these last few months.
My oldest daughter has been trying to talk me into changing to a Keto based diet to lose weight for a few months now but having done the low carb thing many years ago I know it’s quite costly and most likely above our limited grocery budget.
But then again I’ve been having some very personal issues these past few months that while I can’t say came out of no where, surprised me non the less. Then a few days ago I seriously thought I was about to die. I had a vein in the back of my head start throbbing so badly that it was as if my heart had switched places and was trying to beat out of my skull. It didn’t last long, maybe five to ten minutes, but it was enough to scare the living daylights out of me.
So here I am trying to make changes to what we eat and at the same time planning our next months menu. I ordered a Power Air Fryer XL™ thinking that would definitely help cut down on the calories helping both of us to lose weight while allowing us to continue eating our favorite foods. I also ordered a new veggie spiralizer since hubs broke ours awhile back. Actually I went with the Veggetti® Pro this time, hopefully it’s a bit more sturdy. I don’t like many veggies but I’m open to trying new ways of cooking them. Heck maybe I’ll actually find one I like, you know age does change our taste-buds!
Day One is over and I feel good, well as good as I do any other day anyway. Our dinner came out a bit soupy but even so it was delicious!
